Selection criteria
The Saint-Laurent Artists Association will hold its New Member Selection on Monday, April 14, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at the Centre des Loisirs de Saint-Laurent, 1375, rue Grenet, Saint-Laurent.
Painters (watercolour, acrylic, pastel, mixed media, oil, etc.) who wish to become members of our association must register before April 1, 2025. You must register either:

and enclose with your application:
- A detailed CV of studies, courses, workshops and internships in the field of painting;
- A short text outlining your motivation and interest in our association.
If your application is complete and received before April 1, 2025, you will be invited to the selection, which will be held at the Centre des loisirs. On the evening of the selection, you must bring and present:
- 5 original paintings; - A portfolio or photo album of your other work;
- $10 non-refundable application fee (cheque or cash).
Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
The selection criteria are as follows:
- Authenticity and originality of works; creativity; artistic expression; presentation and quality of work; availability and willingness to get involved in the association's activities.
The following will not be accepted: reproductions or copies by other artists; paintings executed in a course or workshop under the supervision of a specialist teacher.
A jury of member artists will be responsible for the selection. The selection process will end around 8 p.m., at which point your paintings will be handed over to you. The decision will be communicated to you in writing within two to three days.
Membership at the Saint-Laurent Artists Association entitles you to a free annual exhibition and four artist demonstrations/lectures a year.

Note: The association is independent of the Saint-Laurent borough, but the borough provides the premises and logistics support.
