Since the 1990s, my training as a painter was a journey marked by numerous workshops, painting, and drawing courses at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Lasalle Cultural Centre, Loisirs Angus-Bourbonnière, the Saidye-Bronfman Centre, etc. Here are the key milestones of my learning:

1995-2000: painting workshops with my sister Nicole Lemaire, during her academic training in Arts at UQAM;
2010-2012: two years of art workshops in New Caledonia with a French artist
2014: a year of Sfumato workshops with Carole Pelleriin at St-Adolphe-d’Howard;
2016-2018: work with Ian Gwen of the Maison des Arts de la Rive-Sud.

My artistic experience stems from my participation in numerous drawing, painting, and mixed media workshops. It took a significant turn during a two-year stay in New Caledonia (2010-2012) and sustained work with a French artist. The creative process became more freely expressed, using materials close to nature, often made on site. Then, my work with Carole Pellerin in the Sfumato workshops allowed for this introspective creation that could be described as abstract.
My approach is inspired by the Sfumato technique, which involves layering paint to create an evanescent effect. It aims to allow inner feelings to shine through. Form emerges through the superimposed layers captured in the creative process.This deconstruction of reality leads the observer to see, in the abstract, forms of an imagined reality.
